Drupal Ubercart Website Development
Ubercart is our current eCommerce system of choice primarily for its level of development and support, but also for its integration with the Drupal CMS. Ubercart allows you to have both a content-rich website with product reviews and comments and a shopping cart in the same system. Most of the other shopping carts work well for shopping and managing products, but come up short in terms of content management. Ubercart is a complete, Drupal ecommerce solution.
We've built custom shopping carts, as well as implemented several different open source shopping carts, including Zen Cart, OSCommerce, VirtueMart with Joomla, and Ubercart in Drupal website development. We've built payment gateways for several of these systems, and imported products and images from other content management systems and existing online stores.
Why Are We Plugging Ubercart ?
We have endorsed Zen Cart for several years as the most comprehensive and easy to use, customize and design open source shopping cart/ecommerce solution we have found in our trials. But there were a few issues:
- The admin interface was clunky in places.
- The admin area was extremely clunky in a few other places.
- There was no real solution covering order FULFILLMENT, particularly in the area of shipping.
- The template system was unnecessarily redundant.
- Flexibility was VERY possible, but only through tedious methodologies.
- There was no great solution to content management aside from product information.
- We really, really like Drupal.
Drupal Ubercart website development :
The nice thing about Drupal's Ubercart module is that it takes a great shopping cart and streamlines it for use with Drupal. With the two, you have a website that's easy to use and administer as well as a solid, free, built-in shopping cart. Add Pay pal Website Payments Pro to the mix, and you have a fully featured ECommerce solution that is regularly updated by a large community of open source developers. To integrate Website Payments Pro in Drupal's Ubercart, you simply adjust the "Payment Settings" under Ubercart's "Store Configuration" menu.
